For this spot -- LEATHER BELT -- we shot on a blank stage, which is always fun as a designer. I got to build a world from scratch: from props to lighting. I wanted to give the actors a 360 environment. Most of these details were not captured on camera like '60s era liquor labels, half-smoked cigarettes, and other aged elements. But I believe in designing a full world, not just dressing for camera.
The bullet holes on the car in WOOL SWEATER were actually done practically. I called a bunch of shops, but no one knew how to match the exterior of a car without damaging it, so... I came up with my own method and fabricated prosthetics to match this picture car.
